It’s easy to feel like you don’t have enough. I am guilty of this all the time.

But when we back out of our finance-bro-podcast bubble and open our eyes to the rest of the world, it becomes quickly evident how rich we are in the First World.

We have clean water at hand everywhere we go. We ride iron chariots all over this land. Food abounds at home (and even rots, to the tune of 100 billion pounds per year) while drought, famine, and starvation are rampant across the globe.

Here’s the truth: if you make $60k/year, you’re in the top 1% of the world. Some even say that line is actually closer to $30k/year, seeing how the the median worldwide income is $2,800 per year.

There’s a difference between being rich and feeling rich.

With a change in perspective, I think we can have both.
