10 Things + The Crowd Strikes
CrowdStrike, inflation, 401ks, $250k in books, college degrees, degenerate economy, and fitness goals.
On Friday, the internet had a bit of a meltdown thanks to CrowdStrike's latest update. CrowdStrike's Falcon sensor, part of their security software, got an update that didn't play nice with Windows systems. It caused conflicts with Microsoft's software, leading to unexpected uninstalls and some serious technical hiccups. If your computer had an uninstall protection enabled, an admin with the right know-how could bypass it, leaving your system more vulnerable than a cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
CrowdStrike quickly acknowledged the snafu and started working with Microsoft to fix the issue. Meanwhile, they offered some guidelines to help users patch things up and keep their systems secure. So, if your IT team looked stressed on Friday, they were probably dealing with this little digital disaster.
The issue caused CrowdStrike shares to dive more than 11% on Friday. Is this a buying opportunity for the once best-in-breed cybersecurity stock? These analysts think so.
